Another Milestone

Ryker insisted on feeding himself lunch today. He scooped up the hummous with his spoon, put it in his mouth and ate it. He was SO proud of himself!

Mt. Pleasant Day

Marilu, Sebastian, Ryker and I went to the Mt. Pleasant Day festival. There was lots of music (Ryker clapped), Latino food (Ryker ate LOTS), and interesting people watching. We even ran into my younger brother, Seth.

Uno, Dos, TRES!

Ryker spent the day with Marilu today. They had fun (as always). When I got home, Marilu was saying "uno, dos, ...." and Ryker responded by shouting "tres." Seriously. I couldn't believe it. Counting. In Spanish. We made him do it several times just to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

It's funny but you don't really know what goes on in their little heads. I was talking to Andrew on Skype the other day and Ryker climbed on my lap, grabbed for the computer and yelled "DaDa! DaDa!" Every time I went to the computer that day, he did the same thing - looking for Andrew on the computer screen. When I put him to bed at night, he says "DaDa? DaDa!" Andrew put him to bed the last few weeks and he knows it is time for daddy to come read to him.

This is a kid who HATES having a dirty diaper. He tells me that he's pooped by going and taking everything off the changing table (diaper, wipes, etc.) and bringing them to me until I change him. I wonder if this means I'll have to start potty training him soon?

Trashing Daddy's Office...

Ryker went to Daddy's office for an hour while I went to a meeting. He climbed all over everything! And fell too...

Keelin's First Day at "Big School"

Keelin started the Irish School on September 1. We picked her up after school at which time we met her teachers and some of her classmates too. Orla (her mummy) came by as well to make sure Keelin was okay. She had a great time and seemed to adjust well. We took her to McDonald's (her favorite) to celebrate. The kids both got balloons. We picked up lunch for Andrew and I at Marks & Spencer. Keelin tried on red shoes while he did the shopping. She loves high heels... We then went to Grange Park to play and so Andrew and I could eat. It poured!!!!!!!! We hid in the little house but still had to hide under the umbrella. An old tree lost a very big branch and scared the poor woman who was seeking shelter beneath it. Fortunately, she moved just in time.
