Ryker is getting better at feeding himself, but it's still pretty messy. Can't wait until this stage is over so I don't have to wash the floor several times per week...
The weather was beautiful in San Francisco - even in Golden Gate Park which is normally chilly with a breeze. Andrew was exhausted so he took a nap in the sun. He didn't even notice Ryker climbing all over him. Ryker also wanted to crawl into the back of the stroller. We let him ride like that for just a little bit as a special treat. Another little boy was flying a kite and Ryker really wanted to do that. He also spent a bit of time playing in the dirt. Fun.
Ryker took his very first steps (3) in Lisa's house. Marilu and I have been practising with him for about a month. We never let go of his hand because we wanted to make sure that Andrew got to see it too.
Ryker loved Lisa's dog, Mischa. He liked playing in his water bowl and, in particular, crawling through his dog door. We had to keep a close eye on him because he would crawl out the door and make his way to the little pond where he played in the water. Ryker even said his first word "doggie" (we think so because he did it twice).
We met Daddy in San Francisco for the weekend. We went to Muir Woods and hiked for a few hours. Ryker spent most of his time on Daddy's shoulders, but he did run along the trail holding on to Daddy's fingers too. He was SO tired at the end of the day.
