Ryker has a new friend, Elijah. He comes over on Mondays and Fridays to play. Elijah is only 3 months old, but a very sweet little boy. He reminds me of Ryker.
You are my sunshine, My only sunshine, You make me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away.
The other night dear as I lay sleeping I dreamt I held you in my arms. As I awoke dear, I was mistaken, so, I hung my head and I cried.
I remember my mom singing this to me when I was little. She also sang "Forever Blowing Bubbles." I've not found that on any children's CDs yet. I sing "You are my Sunshine" to Ryker now. He loves it. Funny how you repeat the things your parents did and said.
Ryker went for his second flu shot today. He had great fun ripping the paper on the examining room table - until he got his shot. Ouch. I started crinkling the paper up for him right away and he forgot all about that nasty shot.
Meredith gave him this Elmo. It's very funny. He laughs and falls over and then gets up again. Ryker has actually figured out how to push Elmo's button with both his hands and his feet so now I am listening to Elmo all of the time...
My best friend from kindergarten, Becky Lubin, knit Ryker this beautiful sweater. It is cashmere and the softest thing ever. I'll keep this in his box of treasures.
Ryker is now trying to feed himself. I have to put the food on the spoon and I try to help guide it in (neatly), but he knows how to get things into his mouth - no problem! He LOVES Stonyfield yogurt, most vegetables (except those yucky green things) and all fruits. He always wants to try what I'm eating too. So, on Saturday morning it was buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup.
