No, it isn't child abuse. He loves to be tightly swaddled at night. It calms him. But, he's too strong and breaks out easily. So, we put tape around it to keep him in nice and tight at night. He sleeps really well this way.
We had a picnic for Marilu on the back patio. Her brother, Alex, had a party for her at his house. Everyone wanted to hold Ryker so he was passed from one person to another. He was tranquil and charmed all of the ladies (this is Marilu's niece, Julianna)...
My VERY distant cousin (6 generations removed) came by with her partner, Ola, and their two daughters: Isabel and Sophia. They brought food - Thank God because I hadn't been to the grocery store!
Andrew and I drove out to Front Royal to see Ryker's grandparents. They got a Ryker a beautiful silver mug, engraved with his initials. They also gave me a book "Little Big Minds" about teaching children philosophy. Zoe, their dog, was very interested in the baby!
Andrew and I took Ryker to Oakland (Berkeley Springs, WV) where I spent many weekends growing up. It rained much of the time, but that didn't stop Andrew from pulling out the grill. Ryker didn't mind the rain since he was snug as a bug in his swaddle. We use a little dog bed as his travel bed.
